Paprika potato (paprikaskrumpli)
  • 1 Kilogram (kg) potato
  • 1 Piece onion, big
  • 2 Piece garlic cloves
  • 1 Tea spoon (tsp) salt
  • 1 Tea spoon (tsp) pepper
  • 2 Table spoon (tbsp) sweet paprika powder
  • 1 Table spoon (tbsp) oil
  • 25 Dekagram (dkg) pickles for serving

This one-course meal is traditional Hungarian food, favorite from my childhood however we used to cook today as well because it is so simple and not least is cheap. Chop the onion and garlic and braise on oil. Add the salt, grated black pepper and chopped potato (2 cm pieces), continue simmer for 5-10 minutes than add the sweet pepper and water as much as cover it. Cook approx 20-30 minutes till the potato becomes soft. Serve with piccles and if you like you may cut some more raw garlic on top of the dish before serving.
